National Federation Of Independent Unions
Whereas, many American workers, realizing the priceless value of local and national Union autonomy, and Whereas, these workers have therefore chosen to be represented by their self-governed Independent Unions, and Whereas, the record proves the great advantage of these Unions to our Nation, in both war and peace, and to workers at all times. Now, Therefore, Be It Hereby Resolved, through this Constitution, to create, establish, and perpetuate the NATIONAL FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT UNIONS for the purpose of protecting these rights and this principle forever hereafter. All Unions ratifying this Constitution shall thereby, and with their continued support, guarantee the continuation of a free and independent labor movement, dedicated to an ever higher and higher standard of living and citizenship; for the members of all organized labor, and the public in general. These objectives shall be obtained by thorough organization; by education; by petition and legislative activity; and by all other legal and proper means available to this Organization and its members.
